“It Doesn't Have to be Solid Gold! --An Expert's How to Write a Book Step-by-Step Guide”
If you've got a problem trying to make your book one with solid-gold writing, then here's a solution that should get you back on track to writing a book that's better than you ever thought possible!
by Steve Manning
Spending time and effort trying to make every line of your book gold? You don't have to. In fact, it might make your book a better read if you realize it can't all be goal. You don't want it to be. Here's why…
If you're a perfectionist, you know the feeling already. You write the next line in your book and then you press it out. You rewrite it. You change your word here, you change a word there. It's better, but it's never quite right. It's never as good as you want it to be. And it's never as good as you think it could be, if you just had more time, or more talent, or more experience.
You're worried about what others will think. You're worried you're not as good as you think you are and that you'll have to face widespread ridicule. Don't laugh, I've seen it ruin some really great authors.
The truth is, you're your own worst critic. You see flaws where none exist, bad writing that is really pretty good. And now the writing of your book is stymied because you can't get past the first page without changing and changing and changing.
And that's followed by no end of frustration. You started writing your book knowing you can write pretty well, hoping you could write really well. Now you're crossing out words, sentence is, entire blocks. And you started out yourself. From here is just a short, slippery slope to believing you can't write at all. And nothing could be further from the truth.
Here's some news about writing a book: it's not going to be perfect. It will never be perfect. But I've yet to meet an author who was satisfied with a book he or she had produced. Even as it was going through the presses, they were wishing they have just one more chance to rewrite.

And that's the way it should be. You should want your book to be as good as you can possibly make it. But not all of your writing is going to be wonderful. It won't all be gold. That's good. Because gold always looks best when it's contrasted with something else.
Writing beautifully isn't nearly as difficult as you might think. When readers understand what you're saying, when they can read without feeling inadequate, and when they enjoy your content and your creativity, then you're producing a book that readers will love Huh.
Write your book the way you talk to your friend across the table. You won't be able to help yourself. You're writing will get showing your end Sean year, until readers city the peer goal that becomes your writing.
But if you spend your time publishing, perfecting and rewriting, no one will see the goal. Time and time again, the authors I coach are committed to producing writing that's simply as good as it could possibly be. I understand that no writer, not even the most revered, produces line after line on goal. At best, everything is pretty good, with a large portion of brilliant, and a few lines of the writing perfection were talking about.
The book you write that's just "pretty good," is infinitely better than the "perfect" book that is never written.
